State of Mississippi:
"I, Elsiaha
Breazeale of Jefferson County, In said State
do make and ordain this my last will and testament, hereby revoking
, annulling
and making void all wills and devices, heretofore made by me in any
manner
whatsoever.
1st.... It is my will that my Executors, hereinto named, keep all my
land
together and work the place whereon, I now reside. And in as much as
I have not
land enough for my farm, I will them to rent tillable land, if practicable,
continium to my place, or to purchase a piece of land providing it
can be done
without embarrassing my estate. My Executors are further authorized,
if in
their opinion it will advance the interest of my estate to sell the
tract of
land. I am now cultivating and my supplies, personal property which
may not be
necessary fro agricultural purposes, and to purchase a plantation elsewhere,if
it can be done and where it can be done, without contracting debts.
The profits
of my estate after keeping up the plantation and providing my son,
John Monroe
Breazeale, with a good English education, I wish invested in Bank Stock.
Item.... Having, when in Cincinatti,Ohio, by deed executed on the 23rd
day
of March, A.D. 1826, Manumitted and set free from slavery, my servant
women,
Eddaline or Edy, as she is called, also John Monroe, above named, I
hereby
ratify and confirm said deed.
Item.... I give and bequeath to my son , John Monroe Breazeale, and
his heirs,
all of my real and personal estate, subject to this provision.... to
wit.......
that my Executors reserve out of my estate a farm and reasonable support
for
the above named Eddaline, during her natural lifetime.
Item.... In the event of the death of the said John, under age,
and without
lawful issue, I wish my Executor to keep all of my property together,
under their
control until the death of the said Eddaline, and then to divide equally
among
the heirs of my sisters, Mary Breazeale and Patty Grayson, share and
share alike.
Item.... when the said John Monroe becomes of age, I recommend them
to
emancipate Kitty and Martha, two daughters of said Eddaline.
Item....In case any of my hands die, I authorize my Executors to purchase
others
to keep up the plantation.
Finally I nominate and appoint my friends, Thomas Hinds, Christopher
Maury,
John M. Whitney and Chas. Riley Executors of this my last will and
Testament.
In testimony whereof this 1st day of September, A.D. 1833, I hereunto
set my
hands and affix my seal.
